Happy Summer Everyone!
Chocolate is one of my guilty pleasures…but I mean how could it not be? I especially LOVE cacao.
Cacao is the RAW and unprocessed form of chocolate (cocoa). It has tons of healthy antioxidants called flavanoids. These antioxidants are great at promoting general health and lowering health risks for several diseases, including cancer! Yes!! eating chocolate can help reduce your risk of cancer. Cacao can also help to lower blood pressure and increase circulation throughout the body. This smoothie also has MACA in it, which is a great energy booster, and hormone balancer.
This smoothie is my go to when I’m craving something rich and decadent, but the best part is that there’s literally zero guilt attached to this smoothie.
1 frozen banana, peeled and chopped
1 cup un-sweeteened almond milk (or any other non-dairy milk)
2 dates, pitted
1 teaspoon maca
1 tablespoon almond butter (optional)
2 tablespoon RAW cacao powder (RAW chocolate! This is super important)
1. Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth.
